The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and warn, 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 And your garments purify! 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 So that is a tough day. 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
