The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 on a great day 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
