Nay! By the moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 it is a warning to man, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
