Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
