Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
