The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the Great News 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
