The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
