The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 you pay attention 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
