The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
