He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
