The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and brightening morning, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
