The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 that hide, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
