The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
