The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
