The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
