The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
