The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
