Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 He will be roasted in the fire, 3 and also his wife who carries the fuel, 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
