The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
