The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
