Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
