Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay! By the moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About the criminals, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
