Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
