In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
