Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
