The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the breath of morning 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
