And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
