Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake with them, and We have placed therein ravines as roads that haply they may find their way. 31 We established the heaven as a well protected roof, yet they still turn away from its signs. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon, each swimming in a sky. 33 And We did not ordain abiding for any mortal before you. What! Then if you die, will they abide? 34 Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned. 35 And when the disbelievers see you, they do not appoint you except as an object of mockery; “Is he the one who speaks ill of your Gods?”; whereas they deny the remembrance of the Most Gracious Himself! 36 The human was created of haste. Indeed, I will show you My signs; so do not ask Me to hasten them. 37 And they say: "When will this promise (come to pass), if you are truthful." 38 If only those who disbelieved knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs; and they will not be helped. 39 Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved. 40 They mocked the Messengers who were sent before you; thus, the torment which they had ridiculed encompassed them all. 41
