The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
