No, by the moon! 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
