Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 AND CALL to mind Our servants Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, [all of them] endowed with inner strength and vision: 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a reminder; and most surely there is an excellent resort for those who guard (against evil), 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 'This is what you were promised for the Day of Reckoning; 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 There will be boiling water for them and cold, clammy, fetid drink to taste, 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They say, 'Our Lord, whoso forwarded this for us, give him a double chastisement in the Fire!' 61 They say, 'How is it with us, that we do not see men here that we counted among the wicked? 62 Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Such, behold, will in truth be the [confusion and] mutual wrangling of the people of the fire! 64
