50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
