Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 your ideas are confused. 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
