۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
