The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
A. L. M. 1 This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). 2 Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.]. 3 Who believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed to those before you, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. 5 BEHOLD, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - it is all one to them whether thou warnest them or dost not warn them: they will not believe. 6 Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom. 7
