And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink. 33 "If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily! You indeed would be losers. 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again. 37 He is nothing but a man who attributes his own lying inventions to God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 no community can advance or postpone its appointed time, 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
