The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
