It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to thee by stages. 23 Wherefore persevere thou with the commandment of thy Lord, and obey not thou of them, any sinner or ingrate. 24 And remember the Name of your Lord every morning and afternoon [i.e. offering of the Morning (Fajr), Zuhr, and 'Asr prayers]. 25 and part of the night; bow down before Him and magnify Him through the long night. 26 Lo! these love fleeting life, and put behind them (the remembrance of) a grievous day. 27 We have created them and have given them strength. Had We wanted, We could have replaced them with another people like them. 28 This surely is a reminder: Therefore whosoever desires may take the way to his Lord. 29 (The virtuous mentioned in this chapter) want only what God wants. God is All-knowing and All-wise. 30 He will admit to His Mercy whom He will and as for the Zalimun, (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) He has prepared a painful torment. 31
