The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the morning brightness, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) an orphan and gave you a refuge? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
