۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 but he was only a servant We favoured and made an example for the Children of Israel: 59 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 Let not Satan hinder you (from believing in the Hour), for surely he is your open enemy. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 Verily God is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is the straight path." 64 Then the sects differed among themselves. Woe then unto those who do Wrong because of the torment of an afflictive Day. 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 Friends on that day shall be foes to one another, but the god-fearing. 67
