(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Or are they contriving a stratagem against you? If so, that stratagem will rebound against the unbelievers. 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, 'A massed cloud!' 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 and extol His glory at night, and at the time when the stars retreat. 49
