He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 Now he who waxes indifferent, 5 you attended to him, 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And whereas he fears, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 uplifted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
