Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
