Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
