And the dwellers of Al Hijr also belied the Messengers. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 For all that they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Verily We will suffice unto thee against the mockers. 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
