Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 And surely they used to say: 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
