Say thou: I am but warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer. 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them, the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving.” 66 Say: It is tremendous tidings 67 from which you are turning away.” 68 I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; 69 it has only been revealed to me that I am a plain warner." 70 [So mention] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay. 71 and when I give it proper shape and blow My spirit into it, bow down in prostration to him," 72 Then the angels bowed before him in a body, 73 Not so lblis. He grew stiffnecked and became of the infidels. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 Answered [Iblis]: "I am better than he: Thou hast created me out of fire, whereas him Thou hast created out of clay." 76 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed. 77 “And indeed My curse is upon you till the Day of Judgement.” 78 But Satan said, "My Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection," 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 “Until the time of the known day.” 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 I shall certainly fill Gehenna with you and every one of them that follows you' 85 Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for this, and I am no simulating. 86 Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples 87 you shall before long know its truth." 88
