The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But save him who fears 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
