There is a sign for them in the lifeless earth. We revive it and We produce grain from it of which they eat. 33 We made in it gardens of date-palms and vines, and We caused springs to gush forth 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 [and] neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float through space [in accordance with Our laws]. 40 And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs. 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 And if We list, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout for them, nor will they be saved. 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
