۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
